Before we can easily take care of our hair, we must understand our hair. I will share some truths I have gathered from my hair journey. 1. Your hair is fragile Relaxed or virgin, your African / Nigerian hair is fragile and must never be compared to that of the Americans, Asians, Europeans and the Indians. (Especially the Indians lol). This is because the structure of our hair makes it hard for natural sebum to flow from the root to the tip of the hair. When you relax your hair, this flow of sebum improves slightly (about 25%) but there's still about 50%-70% of the vulnerable hair. 2. The Hair is Strongest At The Roots As your hair grows and ages, it is exposed to the wind, sun, temperature fluctuations and blunders we commit so the longer our hair gets, the more prone to drying out and breaking it gets so we have to be mindful of these when we feel like flaunting it every other day. 3.
